Let your tabs nap.
You nap too.

Chrome eats RAM when you keep 30+ tabs open. Sloth doesn't close them — it hibernates them. Tabs stay in your bar, use 0 RAM, wake instantly when you click.

Why keep suffering?
Your browser shouldn't.

You need tabs open for context. Your RAM doesn't. Sloth gives you both.

⚡

Save ~45MB per tab

Chrome's tab discard unloads a tab from memory but keeps it in your tab bar. 20 tabs = ~900MB saved instantly. Check chrome://discards to verify.

🧠

Keep your context

Closing tabs loses context. Hibernating keeps them. Shopping carts, docs, research - all still there, just sleeping. Click to wake, no reload lost.

🔒

100% Private & Offline

No cloud, no API, no tracking. All logic runs locally in your browser. No data ever leaves your machine. Works offline, even on a flight.

🦥

One click, not 30 clicks

Select all, or select only the trash. Hibernate 23 tabs in one click. No more Cmd+W, Cmd+W, Cmd+W guilt.

📋

Export for later

Export your open tabs as a clean Markdown file before hibernating. Perfect for weekly cleanup or moving to another device.

🎯

No bloat, no dashboard

No login, no analytics panel, no “productivity score”. Just a 400px popup that does one job well and disappears.

How it works

Uses Chrome's native discard API - the same thing Chrome uses internally.

Open Sloth

Click the sloth icon. It instantly lists all tabs across all windows. No loading, no AI download.

Select what to nap

By default, all non-active tabs are selected. Uncheck the ones you want to keep awake. Active tab can't be hibernated.

Hibernate

One click. Tabs turn faded, show as sleeping, RAM freed. Click any sleeping tab in your tab bar to wake it instantly.

❌ Closing tabs

  • 💔 Loses context & history
  • 🔍 Need to find URL again
  • 🛒 Cart, form data lost
  • 😰 Anxiety to reopen
  • ✅ Hibernating tabs

  • 💾 Keeps tab in bar
  • ⚡ Click to wake, instant
  • 🛒 State preserved
  • 😌 Guilt-free cleanup
  • Built for people with 20+ tabs open.
    So, everyone.

    For developers

GitHub issues, Stack Overflow, localhost, docs - keep them all. Hibernate when you switch branches. 15 tabs of docs = ~675MB back.

    For researchers & students

20 papers, Notion, Drive, Medium articles. Don't close, hibernate. Export as Markdown for your weekly review.

    For shoppers & planners

Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra carts you’ll “buy later”. Hibernate instead of buying now. Sloth rewards laziness.

    For everyone with Gmail

That Gmail with 11,313 unread? Hibernate it. It will still show the unread count, but use 0 RAM until you need it.

    Install in 15 seconds

No Chrome Web Store needed. Load unpacked - you stay in control.
